The Centre has been at the forefront of thought leadership for sports in India.
Projects that the Centre’s team has worked on include:
Research and drafting of Comparative Governance Practices in Sports, a research report on international best practices for governance and integrity in sport, commissioned by the Justice Lodha Committee;
Policy research and drafting of the first Sports Policy for Karnataka for the Karnataka Knowledge Commission, as part of a Task Group co-chaired by Prakash Padukone and Rahul Dravid;
Scheme design, scheme drafting, formulation of athlete participation agreement and media partnership agreement for the Ministry for Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India, on the Target Olympic Podium (TOP) Scheme, a scheme to identify and fund India’s top Olympic and Paralympic athletes;
Participation in the University Grants Commission’s committee to formulate a scheme for Promotion of Sports during XII Plan and Integration of High Performance Sports Facilities within India’s Higher Education Set Up;
Participation on a committee established by the Department of Higher Education, Govt of Karnataka, to draft the Karnataka Higher Education Sports Policy;
Advisory and drafting assistance to the Government of Delhi’s Delhi Dialogue Commission on a proposed State Sports Policy and Sports Law;
Advice to the National Skills Development Corporation’s Sports Sector Skill Council on the establishment of national occupation standards in the sports industry;
Advice to the Government of Andhra Pradesh on a Sports High Performance Policy through establishment of a Sports University;
Drafting of a National Coaching Framework in collaboration with P. Gopichand, National Badminton Coach for submission to the Sports Authority of India.
